About the AASP

Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) is the premier association that ensures every performer has the resources to strengthen their inner edge through the advancement and application of excellence in mental performance and mental health. To do that we cultivate an inclusive field of Certified Mental Performance Consultants (CMPCs), licensed mental health professionals, educators, and researchers. Because when we research, train, and serve performers’ complete mental needs, we elevate their ability to perform and thrive.

About the Conference

The AASP Asia-Pacific Regional Conference, hosted by Rikkyo University, is a student-oriented academic conference. This is the first time that the AASP conference is to be held in the Asia-Pacific area. The concept of this conference is  “Be brave to break through a boundary!” At this conference, we use only English! The majority of this conference presentations will focus on two keynotes and student research and applied work.

Registration & Fee

  • Online registration period: June 30 - July 28, 2024
  • Registration fee: 1) Students: Free; 2) Non-Students: 1,500 (JYP)

※ Non-students are required to pay the registration fee (1,500 yen) in cash at the conference reception on August 3. The payment can be made in cash only.

  • Seating capacity: 35 seats for Students; 15 seats for Non-Students

※ If the number of participants does not reach the limit, participation on the day of the conference will be possible. The information will be updated on the website after July 28th.

Timeline of Presentation Application

  • Registration Opens:  June 30, 2024
  • Abstract Submission Due: July 28, 2024
  • Oral presentation Date: August 4, 2024

We are encouraging students to present their research or practical work (research progress reports, research plans, applied work reports, etc.) at the conference. You can make a presentation in English for 10-15 minutes at the conference. We believe that this opportunity will be a great experience for you. Be Brave and Join us!

There are two sections for the oral presentation. 

  1. Presentation on a completed research study: Abstract submission is required for this section. 
  2. Presentation on a practical work or research plan: Abstract submission is unnecessary for this section.

Abstract Submission Instructions

   1. Presentation on a completed research study: Abstract submission is required for this section.

  • The file format: Title, Author(s), and Affiliation followed by the abstract.
  • The abstract should be written concisely with a maximum of 300 words. It should be structured with sub-headings: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
  • The use of abbreviations should be minimized and do not cite references in the abstract.
  • You are also required to list 3-4 keywords from your research below the abstract.
  • Submission Deadline: July 28, 2024
  • E-mail the abstract to aasp2024aprc@gmail.com

   2. Presentation on a practical work or research plan: Abstract submission is unnecessary for this section.

  • Send a title and brief summary of presentation to aasp2024aprc@gmail.com
  • You need to clearly indicate that you chose #2.
